Islamabad Red Zone sealed ahead of US-Iran talks

Authorities have completely sealed the Red Zone in Islamabad ahead of the arrival of foreign delegations for crucial talks between the United States and Iran, with entry restricted to authorized personnel only.
The decision was taken during a high-level security meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where preparations and security arrangements for the upcoming negotiations were reviewed in detail.
Officials discussed the overall security plan and logistical arrangements for hosting the foreign delegations. The interior minister directed authorities to ensure comprehensive security measures and proper hospitality for all visiting dignitaries.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that hosting US-Iran talks in Islamabad after a ceasefire is a matter of pride for Pakistan. He emphasized that all possible steps must be taken to guarantee the safety and comfort of the visiting delegations.
As part of the security strategy, the Red Zone—home to key government buildings and diplomatic missions—has been fully sealed. Only individuals with special clearance will be allowed access. Additionally, a central control room has been established at the Ministry of Interior to monitor the situation and coordinate security operations.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the federal interior secretary, the chief commissioner of Islamabad, the inspector general of Islamabad Police, the commissioner of Rawalpindi, the director general of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and representatives from Pakistan Rangers, Federal Constabulary, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan.
Security has been heightened across the city as Pakistan prepares to host the high-stakes diplomatic engagement.
